| Summary:

We theoretically study Rashba-Edelstein magnetoresistance (REMR) in a
two-dimensional electron gas (2DEG) system with Rashba and Dresselhaus
spin-orbit interactions. Starting from a microscopic model of a junction system
composed of a ferromagnetic insulator and 2DEG, we derive analytic expressions
for the spin and current densities in the 2DEG using the Boltzmann equation.
Our findings reveal that the sign of the REMR varies depending on the type of
interface. We also discuss the experimental relevance of our results.
